The 100 Mile Club is a physical fitness and life skill based program that challenges its participants to walk or run 100 miles at school during a single school year. The process of reaching and surpassing the goal of 100 miles involves conscious goal setting, commitment and encouragement on the part of the participants. In addition, participation has been found to improve school readiness to learn, creates better educational outcomes, building self-esteem and the overall health in the lives of children and others. |

We are proud to say that Alexandria Elementary School has been an active member of the 100 Mile Club since 2010. Coach Carla, with the support of the school and administration, has created a strong program at Alexandria and each year it continues to grow. This school embodies the goals and mission of the 100 Mile Club – helping our children and families become healthy, happy and connected . . . one child, one school, one community at a time. |
